Listed below is information for trips for the remainder of 2018* September 20—Crystal Coast Lady boat tour in Beaufort, North Carolina. We will have lunch on the boat as we enjoy the wild horse and golf and scenic tour tickets and bus expenses will be $35.00 due no later than September 17.* October 18—Fort Anderson and Old Brunswick. Dinner at Ella’s Seafood in Calabash. No charge for the tour. $5.00 for bus expenses due October 15.* November 6—Alabama Theater Christmas Show and Thanksgiving luncheon buffet in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Total due for tickets, lunch, and bus expenses and $65.00 due no later than October 24.* December 14—Duplin Winery in Rose Hill, NC dinner and Christmas show. Amazing Volunteer Opportunities!Family Promise/WIHN (Wilmington Interfaith Hospitality Network) provides the only transitional housing in the tri-county area for families who are victims of domestic violence with our Families Forward program. Our emergency shelter program, WIHN, unites community partners in a collaborative effort to assist homeless families. On a rotating basis, 13 host congregations provide accommodations and meals for up to four families for one week, four times a year. An additional 25 congregations support the hosts, providing material, human, and financial resources to support the program.Winter Park Baptist is a host congregation with which we partner as a support congregation. Please respond regarding availabilities. Two volunteers (can be a family) are needed for each of the shifts listed.Sunday Aug 12th

International Mission Trip to Guyana March 12-19, 2019. We will visit several orphanages, perform some light construction work, provide toiletries to the homeless shelter, and feed the homeless of Georgetown. We're all moving up! Promotion Sunday is August 26. All children and youth will move up to their new Sunday School classes. There will be a sweet treat for all children in their new classes. Look for signs above the doors to see where your child goes. 5th graders are upstairs in room 201.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD: Thank you for the donated items and the completed shoeboxes received thus far. If you haven't packed a shoebox yet or brought in your items for donation, it's not too late; shoeboxes are still available. We will continue collecting completed shoeboxes and any donations through September. Place your completed boxes and packing items in the collection boxes that are located in the CLC and FH.

Food Pantry Needs: Spam, boxed Macaroni & Cheese
The Ever 49ers will meet on Tuesday August 21, 2018 at 5:30pm in the Fellowship Hall. Pat Bond will talk to us about her work with " Adopt an Angel" and her roll as a "foster" mom for pets in need of a forever home. She will also tell us what Adopt and Angel means our community. The meal is POTLUCK so bring your favorite dish to share. This is a great time to bring a friend to enjoy the fellowship of the 49ers.
Help Alderman Elementary: Our Congregations for Children partnership school is Alderman Elementary and we are gathering school supplies for them. Collection boxes are in the Fellowship Hall and Christian Life Center lobbies. Suggested donations: glue sticks, composition books, pencils, pencil cap erasers, dry erase board markers and erasers, tissues, hand sanitizer, and Clorox wipes.
