Ever49ers: church member, motivational speaker, and author Chad Porter will present a program dealing with his own experiences in overcoming obstacles, perseverance and dealing with life’s challenges,. Tuesday, August 20th, in the Fellowship Hall at 5:30 pm. Dinner provided. Bring a friend too.
Promotion Sunday is August 25. This is the Sunday that kids and youth rise to their 2019-2020 school grade and 3rd graders will receive a Bible at the 9:45am service. Contact email@example.com if your child is going into 3rd grade.

Methodist Home for Children Epicurean Evening, the local MHC fundraiser, is Thursday August 29th at the Wilmington Convention Center. Pine Valley UMC has 2 tables reserved (10 seats/table). Tickets are $150 per person; money due by August 23rd. Katie Hill, 910-452-4776, has tickets and can answer questions. Tasting opens at 5:30pm; the program starts at 7:00pm.
Children’s Ministry Serve Jesus by connecting children’s hearts to Christ and one another. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org. Current openings: 1 teacher and 5 Sunday School helpers at 9:45am (twice a month) and 1 Children's Church helper for 1 hour the 1st Sunday of each month at 11:15am.

School Supply Drive: PVUMC is partnering with Pine Valley Elementary School and we have a goal to collect 3100 glue sticks and 1100 wide-rule, black, marbled composition books (as of 8/3 we only had 12% of the items collected). Other organizations are donating different items to help PVES teachers have student supplies on hand for the 2019-2020 school year. Donations needed Sunday, August 18.
Attractions Books: The Mary Ellen Whitfield Circle is selling books at $25/book. Proceeds benefit missions. The Attractions Books have many great coupons and are available through a circle member or at the church office.
Billy Graham Evangelistic Association presents Franklin Graham on October 5th at 4pm at Wilmington’s Legion Stadium. Learn more at http://nc.billygraham.org including how to volunteer, where to attend prayer meetings, and learning how to witness your Christian faith to others. We are hosting the Wilmington prayer meeting September 9th from 7 to 8:30pm. Everyone is invited to come as we join our city in praying for the event.
Christmas Eve Outreach toiletries: Make sure to save unused hotel toiletries for our Christmas Eve Outreach toiletry bags. In November, we will begin accepting donations at the church.
