OUTREACH & MISSIONS
Mission is a lifestyle of reaching out to extend the love of Christ. This is the heart of outreach at Pine Valley. Below are upcoming opportunities to reach our community and beyond while serving.
APPALACHIA SERVICE PROJECT (ASP)
An opportunity to serve that you'll never forget every summer. Serving rural Appalachia as a church family through ASP for over 20 years with youth and adults, we always come back revived in our desire to be the hands and feet of christ, even to those in our own back yard. Just ask any one of our youth & they'll tell you that it's their favorite trip of the summer.
Shut-in and Hospital Visitation
Our opportunity to care for those in the hospital and to be alongside those that are being challenged by the difficulties of illness are very important to us at PVUMC. Some of the people are shut-ins at their own homes while others are residents of assisted living facilities. This is a joy that is equally shared by those that choose to visit and also the joy experienced by those that are visited. This visiting may also include the privilege of sharing Holy Communion with these loving people. For details on these opportunities, contact Pastor Barry at email@example.com.
We at Pine Valley UMC treasure our opportunities to pray with and for each other. During all of our Sunday Worship Services, we have dedicated people in prayer for all involved in that worship experience. We ask all those with prayer requests, both praise and petition, to submit a written request. Each of these requests is individually prayed over by our “Prayer Team” on Monday mornings. The Prayer Shawl Ministry is a very personal effort by many caring ladies to help provide Gods love and comfort to those who may be traveling some of the life’s very difficult roads.
