Shut-In, Flowers, & Hospital Visitation
Shut-In & Hospital Visitation
Our opportunity to care for those in the hospital and to be alongside those that are being challenged by the difficulties of illness are very important to us at PVUMC. Many times in life we can find ourselves isolated from the people and activities that we cared so much about. Very often we took them and their access for granted. What are many times a significant loss; we view as an opportunity to help bring joy. This is a joy that is equally shared by those that choose to visit and also the joy experienced by those that are visited. This visiting may also include the privilege of sharing Holy Communion with these loving people. Some of the people are shut-ins at their own homes while others are residents of assisted living facilities. All are very deserving of our attention.
The flower ministry is done by the church through church volunteers twice a month. The flowers are lovingly arranged by expert designers and then delivered to 35+ people by dedicated volunteers who carry the love and beauty of Christ in those flowers to those shut in or in poor health. Through both serving and being served, we're able to enjoy the fellowship, blessing, and encouragement a flower holds for our church family.
